The Lion Royal has a long-standing association with those that enjoy the freedom of an engine & two wheels.
We are ideally placed in the heart of Wales for both on & off road riding. Not only are the Radnorshire roads something of a "Mecca" for those that enjoy tarmac under their wheels, Trail Riders also enjoy the greatest choice of green-laning in the country with plenty of mud, bogs, shale, rocks & rivers to be encountered - all within easy reach of the hotel.
Welsh weather does its worst or you happen to have a close encounter with one of our rivers, our kit drying facilities will see your belongings dry & ready for the next day.
We know that your machine is your pride & joy and the hotel has a secure gated courtyard car-park with large covered garage area.
You can enjoy the services of our experienced guides or choose to explore of your own accord. Guides are also experienced mechanics & E. T. James are close by for parts & repairs, should the unexpected happen.
We welcome all riders, both old and new, at all levels of ability, and our guides are always happy to offer help and instruction if required.
Please note that we are unable to provide motorbikes for hire. Guests should ensure that their machines are "road legal" and (if exploring unguided) must take care to adhere to the legal "green lane" routes.
We are able to offer you all of the following:
Legal access to private off-road routes in addition to the green lanes.
Secure floodlit off-road parking for motorcycles & support vehicles.
Large covered garage.
Custom built kit drying facilities for the largest of parties.
En-suite rooms with both shower & bath.
Residents licensed bar stocked with beverages of your choice on request.
A standard days riding covers a distance of approximately 100 to 120 miles.
A family motorcycling heritage.
